Last Year, Soi Dog Veteran Na Tong Found His Forev..

Last year, Soi Dog veteran Na Tong found his forever home after almost TEN YEARS at our shelter. Today, we’re excited to share a #furrytailending update about his incredible journey🐾, in his words:

“I first arrived at the Soi Dog shelter in 2010 after being rescued from a construction site where I’d been abandoned. The workers had vacated the site and left me behind. I was only a young pup at the time. Soi Dog provided me with a safe place to stay and affection that I’d never experienced before, but I longed for a home of my own, and I waited almost a decade to find it.

One of the reasons it took me such a long time to find a home was because I had specific requirements, including no other dogs or cats. (I didn’t get on too well with other dogs at the shelter, and I failed the Soi Dog ‘cat test’ at the time.) Well, would you believe that I’m now sharing a home and even a bed with a one-eyed ginger pussycat called Charlie who turned up in our mum’s garden one day?! We have something in common in that we were both strays once upon a time.

It’s been over a year since I flew to my forever home here in the UK. I’m doing very well and spending my retirement being a couch potato and snoozing the days away. 💤 I’ve been told by my mum that I’m the love of her life and that Charlie and I have got her through some hard times. ‘What a lovely family I have,’ she says. It’s amazing to finally be part of a family, and I just want her to know that the decision she made has changed my life forever.”

Senior dogs like Na Tong are so often overlooked. However, his #furrytailending shows that it’s never too late to offer them a second chance. In return for making their golden years happy and fulfilling, they will give you unconditional loyalty and love.

Please consider giving a senior dog a chance. Their love for you will never grow old. 🧡
