Fossil records show that orang-utans have been here on Earth for more than 800,000 years. Today, orang-utans in the wild can only be found on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. Sadly, their population is declining due to destructed and fragmented habitats.
.
Bornean orang-utans play a vital role in seed dispersal and in maintaining the health of forests.
.
By saving orang-utans, we ensure a healthy forest ecosystem – and protecting our clean air, freshwater, and food supply.
