Join to stop another pandemic from taking hold of our world. #OneHealth

Did you know that more than 75% of new human infections come from animals (zoonotic diseases)? There are over 200 such zoonotic diseases which have killed millions of people, and Covid-19 joins a long list of these diseases including rabies, Ebola, SARS and avian influenza.

It’s clear now more than ever that protecting animal health goes hand in hand with safeguarding human health. Another pandemic is imminent without this commitment – a pandemic likely to have even more dire consequences than Covid-19.

To show our commitment to animal health and our responsibility to the human community, we are proud to be part of Action for Animal Health, a global coalition calling for more investment in #AnimalHealthSystems

If you are part of a governmental or non-governmental organisation, policy and research institute or the media, you are cordially invited to join the launch of Action for Animal Health on May 20th at 12.00 -13.00 GMT.

The direct cost of zoonotic diseases over the last decade is estimated to be more than $20 billion, with over $200 billion indirect losses to affected economies as a whole (World Bank).

It’s time we changed the way we treat animals in order to safeguard ALL our health. For now and tomorrow.
