Asima arrived at our shelter when he was only 5 weeks old, together with 5 other puppies, all from the same litter, and their mother. 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗮’𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. She was shot in her eye with a catapult by some cruel human and partially blinded. 😨😢Not only had this young mother to fend for herself while injured, she also had to take care of 6 newborn puppies. All of this with no medical care, no roof over her head, no place to keep them safe.😨💔

Asima and his family were rescued from off-island, and sent to Soi Dog as soon as possible. They were sick and tired. Not to mention malnourished and dehydrated.

As we ran more tests, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿 – a highly contagious viral disease that can be lethal to puppies like Asima and his siblings. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟰 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟲 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀. One of the survivors recovered, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.
