This week we are celebrating the dawn of the traditional Thai New Year.🇹🇭
Also referred to as Songkran, which means ‘Rising or Passing’ in Sanskrit it is the the time period when the position of the Sun is thought to move from Pisces to Aries in the Zodiac, thus the start of a brand new year. 🌞
One of the more modern ways to celebrate the new year has been festivities involving water. Normally, it will be difficult to avoid friendly water gun fights on the streets to parties that continue into the night. In some provinces celebrations carry on throughout the week.💦
Here at Soi Dog, some of our doggies like Talik, consider every day to be Songkran even during the pandemic when festivities for the humans have come to a halt. 😎
Talik thoroughly enjoys chilling in a water tub whether it is April or September. He also joins in the party with his signature snorts and happy grunts whenever he’s got something exciting to share.
Happy Songkran from Talik and friends here at Soi Dog Foundation.
