Thong-Dao Escapes (Maslindas)

News from Maslinda at 5am this morning:

just now i went to my isolation room (to feed both mother cats and check on her) and found that thong dao managed to escape from the cage and out of the room thru the window.
at night i normally put her inside the cage coz i want to make sure she’s eating. i did the same last night
i dont know how she managed to escape from the cage. as usual i didnt lock the window, but i just close it (like how it was closed when u first sent her here). i think she jumped to the window few times and somehow she managed to open the window and escape. there’s smaller netting at the window but she managed to escape still
i went out just now looking for her using flashlight but unable to locate her yet.
i’m so3x sorry that she escaped, i’m worried she might want to deliver and she feels the need to escape and find some other place. i will do a thorough searching in this whole neighbourhood first thing in the morning and update both of u
apologize again for this bad news
mas
Cats, especially those who have lived a feral life, are natural escape artists. Not only can they run and are evasive, they can jump heights and squeeze through gaps almost effortlessly. Ask me, and I’ll show you Pole. Pole has been escaping for the past 4 1/2 years of her life simply because she wants to be free.

So, Thong-Dao escaping is not surprising as she had lived a feral life before this. Naturally, she would not want to be confined, especially in a place that has so many other cats. Joanie, the cat dumped on me with obstructed labour, also escaped after 20 days with me, when she was well again. She did not want to be in my house together with all my territorial cats although no one bullied her.

Dr Veeranoot caught Thong-Dao because she wanted her to have a safe delivery and not give birth on the streets in Subang Jaya.

Now, that Thong-Dao has decided to escape, perhaps she prefers to be by herself. Maslinda’s neighbourhood is cat-friendly and of low traffic, so we hope Thong-Dao will be safe.

Maslinda texted me this morning to say she spotted Thong-Dao but could not catch her. We don’t fault Maslinda at all because this is Thong-Dao’s choice.

I suppose the only way to keep a cat confined would be to put her in a pad-lock secured cage, and even then, if she wants to escape, she might STILL find a way!

We hope Thong-Dao will be safe.

Don’t worry, Maslinda. We know you’ve done your very best.
