Pieces Of Mandey's Puzzle Have Finally Come Togeth..

Pieces of Mandey’s puzzle have finally come together.🧩

Celebrating #FIVAwarenessmonth with a happy forever after story.

Mandey was found with a wounded front leg covered in blood. He was injured and was feeling sorry for himself. But, with no one to take responsibility for him, it was a stranger’s kindness that brought Mandey to Soi Dog in 2018. #ThrowBackThursday

We were able to attend to this sweet boy and make him better, thanks to the support we receive from amazing people like you. However, routine checks revealed that poor Mandey had something else in him that had no medication could help. He tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) which means he was overlooked by potential adopters over and over again (in fact for over 2 years).

Until, of course our super Partner Rescue Homeward Trails Animal Rescue saw immense potential in Mandey and selected him to fly to the USA.

And very soon, he found his forever home with Cristy, proving 😻FIV kitties are Pawsitively Adoptable😻

“I’ve got to say that adopting Mandey has been the absolute best decision over the last year (that includes buying a house), he’s the sweetest, snuggliest guy and has helped me make it through the pandemic and stay sane!

He’s just had a couple of teeth removed, which the vet thinks is related to his FIV (in combination with unlucky genes). But otherwise, he’s thriving and has had no issues. I’m pretty sure he’s living his best life!

I’m so thankful for the work of Homeward Trails and Soi Dog Foundation for saving him so I would have the opportunity to have him in my life.” 🧡

Mandey is proof that FIV cats are no different to any other cat and can even love you twice as much, if they are given the chance.

Please consder giving a home to an FIV positive cat. Check out a few our FIV kitties who are available for adoption at Soi Dog on our website: https://www.soidog.org/adopt-a-cat
