So previously, 2 dogs were euthanised in Penang because they attacked a tourist in the course of doing their duty in protecting their territory. Never mind what they were doing, never mind intention, they killed a man, so they were sentenced to death for it. They were dogs. They had no chance to speak up for themselves. Sounds like plain old bullying of the defenseless, if you ask me.

Now, this loyal dog is euthanised because….? Apparently, it was old and sickly and there was no home for it.
Animals aside, let’s look at how we humans run our human world…
We know certain countries still implement the death penalty for murderers (willful killing with unwholesome intentions, not in self-defence and not in ignorance). Will it come a time when humans will implement the death penalty for old and sick people who are homeless? Like in certain Latin American countries, a secret squad goes around shooting the homeless because they are a nuisance, a pest. Sounds familiar?
Will the human race come to that one day?
We hope not.
There is hope in countries that have banned the death penalty (like in Thailand). But the other day, I read that a politician-hopeful in a state in the U.S. is advocating public hangings as a deterrent for would-be criminals.
Goodness gracious, and I thought humans are progressing morally and spiritually and that we no longer need to use FEAR as a deterrent but we use reasoning, education and draw out the compassion in them. Looks like I’m wrong in this department.
FEAR is still needed. It looks like we are heading back to the dark ages where people were burnt at the stake and heads were lopped off in the marketplace?
Sad world, if you think about it.
But let’s get on with our work in saving the animals.
Spay-neuter, friends. Let the would-be animals NOT be reborn on our doomed Earth, but let them be reborn elsewhere where there is compassion and justice to their kind.
This Earth is rotting.
