DANKA’s WONDERLAND NEEDS OUR HELP

Danka Kantar is always on her feet. She puts in 12 hour days trying to keep an impeccably clean, healthy and happy environment for more than 120 rescued dogs and cats in Bosnia. Many of these animals are left at her gate, and she and her husband Zoran also go out an feed the strays in their community. Danka needs surgery now as many years of relentless physical work have created a health issue that must be addressed.

While most of us facing surgery would be worried about the pain or the risks of Covid, Danka’s mind is singularly on the animals and how quickly she can return to them.

Every month, the Harmony Fund provides food, litter, veterinary care and other basic needs for the animals here. Although this rescue center is actually very poor, you would never know it by looking. Danka and her husband Zoran have transformed this place into an oasis of love. All of the beauty you see here is a reflection of their hearts. Their gratitude overflows….

“I have been helping abused and abandoned animals for 28 years,” Danka said. “Both Zoran and I gave everything for animals, our health, our house. We were hungry, and at times, we did not have anything to eat, but animals always had everything. I mean, never but never has anyone helped me so much, never anyone. You at Harmony Fund are my angel and our savior for all I still can’t believe it.”
