An Old Dog And Her Loving Family

A pet is for all times. #ResponsiblePetOwnersMonth

We are sharing the story of Pinky, an older pet dog belonging to a local family, who lives closer to our sanctuary in Mai Khao, Phuket.

Pinky was abandoned years ago by, her original owners and unlike most other discarded dogs, she was lucky because Khun Ramyong’s family took her in and made her part of their family for the last 2 decades.

Recently, Pinky needed emergency veterinary treatment and was rushed to Soi Dog. Her owners were worried about her, but even they found out that she is losing her sight due to age and had a growing number of health issues, they chose to be by her side and continue to provide her a great life during her golden years.

Khun Ramyong and his family are a wonderful example of what pet ownership is truly about. We should be there for our animals through thick and thin. Love them the same, both during their happy and young days to those days when they are weak and require more TLC from us.

Our thanks goes out to Pinky’s family for showing the world that love for pets is a lifelong commitment and not one to take lightly, where ever you are in the world

If you’d like to give a forever home to a special rescue too, take a look at just a few of the dogs and cats who are at Soi Dog Foundation, waiting for their #BFF:
