Looks like all the eggs that we collected for incubation last week are viable!
Like sea turtles, river terrapin eggs develop white spots after a few days, which later develop into a large band that encompasses the majority of the egg.
This white band shows the development of the extraembryonic membranes, and these membranes perform roles in nutrition, gas exchange and waste removal.
