We can only imagine the terrible things that Layan and Lovina have seen and experienced. Victims of the trade usually die by being stabbed, clubbed or boiled to death. Other dogs will witness the killings; it is believed that their fear releases adrenaline, and this makes the meat tastier. Soi Dog Foundation will never give up until we see it eradicated forever, and we are now focusing our efforts on ending the trade in Vietnam and Cambodia.

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals.
