RESCUE CASE – Face-Off, a victim of TVT
We received a tip-off that this furkid was roaming around BDC scavenging for food. Volunteers have been searching hi-and-lo for him since the dog was reported in social media.
We will tentatively name this dog as Face-Off. He was found and captured on Wednesday morning. He is being diagnosed with canine transmissible venereal tumors (TVT in short).
TVTs are tumors that arise from the dysregulated growth of cells (histiocytes). TVTs are malignant (cancerous) tumors, and is spread by the physical transfer of living cancer cells between dogs. This usually occurs during mating. A good reason that you should spay/neuter your dogs at home.
Face-Off has lost almost half of his face due to TVT. The tumors progress into a cauliflower-like appearance. His tumors are ulcerated, inflamed and bleed easily. Face-Off is currently under observation and treatment at our panel veterinarian, Dr Davies of Animal Central Veterinary Clinic. A major face reconstruction needs to be done for Face-Off over the timeframe of 4-6 months. His medical fee will be rocket-high, and we seek help from the general public for his medical fee.
To help, you can make your contribution through our official banking account, CIMB Account No 8005274525. Kindly put in the remark “Face-Off”.
We pray that the tumors on Face-Off will regress in no time.
