Feisty Little Rescue Is Where He Belongs. Sawatdir..

Feisty little rescue is where he belongs!

Sawatdirak was found running around in panic with deep, infected wounds on his head and matted fur that had collected clumps of dirt and leaves. It was clear that he had been completely neglected.

The Soi Dog vets carefully treated his wounds and shaved his fur, discovering that Sawatdirak had a shockingly severe ear infection. The vets had to remove his right ear, including the ear canal. His left ear needed surgery as well, which means he probably can hear only a little, if anything. Despite these challenges Sawatdirak was able to navigate his way around and showed staff and volunteers that he could run as fast and jump as high as his little legs will let him in the off lead area. This one-eared, scruffy-furred, short-legged and uniquely named little boy stole the heart of one of our partner rescues in Vancouver, Dachshund & Friends Society and they chose him as one of their first soi dogs to help find a forever home 🙏.

Sawatdirak arrived safely and became known as Sawa. He settled into his foster home with ease and soon after he got adopted by a loving family!

“Imagine falling in love through Facebook? Well that is what happened to me. I fell in love with a low to the ground, long, one eared, deaf dog named Sawa. His life has been so hard but when I saw his picture I knew that long snout, short legs and shaggy scruff were meant for my family. I waited, I wished and I waited some more and then on Saturday my beautiful boy came home. Ms. Claire, his foster mom said he was special and loved him while he waited for us. Ms. Angela is guardian angel helping him and 1000 other dogs. Thank you to you both and Soi Dogs for being amazing humans. We love our boy he is perfect. I would encourage others to look for their diamond in the ruff!

Sawa is from Thailand and my daughter is also Thai and we are learning Thai. She knows he is deaf but if he can hear at all it might bring him comfort to hear his home language.” 🤗🐶.

Please don’t let homeless dogs and cats wait any longer for their #furrytailending to begin…
