CHRISTMAS “VEAL” IS SAFE AND SOUND

“I can’t imagine these eyes as fresh veal. How are you not sorry?” young Bosnian animal activist Elma Ščetić said after rescuing yet another calf last week.

Harmony Fund has been helping Elma with calf rescues recently and many grateful dogs, cats, turkeys, goats, an adult cow and a donkey live at her small sanctuary now. The calves walk on leashes in unfenced areas for their own safety and it’s apparent how much they LOVE their rescuer.

In her most recent appeal to us, Elma wrote, “Once again, I want to thank you for donating calf food. From the neighbor, the cow was calved. The calf will be on sale Dec 5 and they want to slaughter it and sell the meat.”

There was no question we would help and you can see why in looking at these images. The white calf in these photos is the latest to be rescued.

This week, Elma playfully ‘dressed’ the rescued animals with a holiday headbands to take some sweet photos as a way of saying thanks to everyone who helps.

The truth is, many people know of Harmony Fund’s work to help dogs and cats, but we are very active in the protection and care of farm animals, hippos, chimpanzees, gorillas, baboons and more. We are thankful to help animals of any species in need and we owe it all to you!
