Bandie, the Banded Malayan Coral snake stole all the evening’s glory at someone’s place with his charm. Found inside the garden pond, he was caught by our caller who wanted to just release him back! Thanks to the guidance from one of our supporters Tan Hang Chong, we were alerted to assist and Bandie is back home in a suitable habitat now. Kindly remember it is best not to catch/handle wild animals on your own not only for the animal’s welfare but also yours. This species is venomous and the venom can have serious neurotoxic effects; wild animals may often bite in defense with handling and this species can be easily mistaken for a non-venomous species Striped Kukri snake by the untrained eye.Source: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150521234141523&set=a.223077136522.136042.22159071522&type=1
