I found this clouded monitor lizard at the riverside eating a dead fish. This lizard is commonly found at lakes, forests, mangrove swamps, and even in urban areas. This medium-sized monitor lizard can reach up to 1.5 metres in total length.

.

Monitor lizards feed on a wide variety of food types, such as small animals, fish, insects or snakes. They control the population of their prey, they also play an important role as scavengers in the decomposition process of the nutrient cycle.

Location: Perdana Botanical Garden, Kuala Lumpur.
