DOG RESCUERS RELOCATE RIGHT BEFORE TYPHOON STRIKES
Sometimes divine timing plays a role in our work, and never more than in the case of this dog rescue center based in the Philippines. They had outgrown their space and were eager to move to a new location that would allow their dogs more outdoor freedom. But with the arrival of Covid19, the formerly self-sufficient volunteers lost their income and could barely provide food let alone the costs associated with moving. Although we truly didn’t have the funds for this, the decision was made to help and the dogs were moved only days before a typhoon hit and flooded their former home!
“They are safe, all of them,” Harmony Fund’s Debbie Evans explains. “Glen and Ann live there with the dogs and Dom works in the city (Manilla). Whilst the storm raged, they bundled all 54 dogs into the house to keep them safe.”
Debbie took this group under her wing and personally helped them a lot from her own tightly-budgeted finances and Harmony Fund helped with both a deposit on the new location and with food.
“Our little rescue says thank you!” Ahmj Dom wrote, feeling so grateful. “The dogs are happier here, they enjoy the air. The ground, the trees, the grass and the plants. We are getting there. Thanks to your organization, you and Debbie. You don’t know how much this meant to us. You gave us a big help to stand up again.”
