November Is Senior Dog Month. Between Our Dog Hosp..

November is Senior Dog Month❣

Between our dog hospital and dog ‘runs’, Soi Dog cares for over 300 senior dogs (seven years old and above). We have a fair amount of geriatric dogs in part due to the work of so many wonderful people – veterinarians, keepers and volunteers – who go above and beyond to provide the best love, care and attention for these deserving oldies. 🤕

This month, we will be celebrating some of the wonderful #seniordogs at the shelter and highlighting the difficulties they often face during their time on the streets. First up is 11-year-old rescue Aquagirl who sadly suffered terrible cruelty when she was homeless. Shockingly, someone slashed her across her shoulder. This poor old girl was already incredibly vulnerable with a weak immune system, heartworm and a skin disease which had resulted in the loss of much of her fur.

But thanks to supporters like you, this golden oldie was provided with the urgent care she desperately needed. Today, she’s not only alive, she’s thriving! With your support, we are able to provide Aquagirl with ongoing medication and supplements to help her stay active and healthy, and a renal diet for her early-stage kidney disease, which is common in older dogs. All she needs now is a loving home to call her own. 🧡🏡

Senior dogs CAN get second chances at happiness too. While Aquagirl patiently waits for that special someone, animal lovers like you can save more senior dogs in need today: https://links.soidog.org/senior-dogs-need-help
