It is an exciting time for us but, have you thought about how to keep your pets safe during this fireworks and festive season?⁠

Planning ahead is key. So here is our 3rd tip on keeping pets safe during this time of the year. 🎆⁠

🔸Create a safe room for your pets in advance.🔸⁠

⁠

✔️For dogs 🐶⁠

Create a small ‘den’ with blankets and make it cozy for them. Try and make the room as sound proof as possible with heavy curtains and bedding around the ‘den’.⁠

You can make the den with an open large crate or cage. Have a lot of bedding with their favourite toys. ⁠

⁠

✔️For cats who seek to run and hide during moments of uncertainty, so provide them with boxes and cubby holes. 🐱🗃️⁠

⁠

✔️ Start getting them used to being in the room beforehand.⁠

Play with them. Give them treats and make them feel comfortable in the room.⁠

⁠

✔️Don’t forget to use pet pheromones in the room.⁠

⁠

✔️Also, start getting them used to loud noises gradually. Use treats to positively interact with them during these training sessions.⁠
