This Is Connie James Furkid Family

For the last few hours, I have been thinking about that poor little white dog now at the shelter, and all because the person who surrendered the dog doesn’t trust us enough to allow Connie James to adopt the dog. Connie has already agreed to her terms – that she will FOSTER the dog and return the dog to the rightful owner should we succeed in finding the owner, failing which Connie will adopt the dog. I have spoken to the SPCA’s chairperson and she said all they need is for the person who surrendered the dog to call them to give the greenlight. Even the chairperson agreed that a home is better for the dog than being at the shelter.

So, what better arrangement can there be for the dog? I am willing to vouch for Connie’s integrity but the person who surrendered the dog suspects that we want to sell the dog to a petstore! In her text messages to me, she questions why we are so interested in a pedigree and not the strays. My dear, if only you knew that 99.9% of the animals that we help are ALL strays. It isn’t often that we encounter a pedigree. Stray or pedigree, we help, if the dog is lost, abandoned or homeless.

As I’ve said in my post, we understand that the person who surrendered the dog may have had previous bad experience with dishonest adopters, but it doesn’t mean all adopters are evil. If we live having so much suspicion and being unwilling to trust others, wouldn’t that be a miserable way to live AND in this case, who suffers? The poor dog! When he could be now having a nice “reunion” dinner in Connie’s home with her furkid family, he is now, instead, at the shelter. And he is long-haired, too. He might not do very well at the shelter.

Here’s something from Connie James, who is our regular reader and supporter and whose integrity I will vouch for:

Hi Dr Chan,
Thanks for understanding.
For now, I pray that the male dog will be reunited with his owner by today.
FYI, I felt for the male dog, because he looks exactlylike my current female dog, Ladywhom I found inone of my construction site back in 2009. Until today I cant remember what is her breed (because itdoesn’t matter).
Pic 1 – Lost dog at Construction Site. I named her Lady.
Pic 2 – 2months later. Lady given birth to six puppies. 3 female + 3 male
Pic 3 – Lady & the puppies
Until today, they all still with me.. all females (including Lady) spayed. Only the males still with their manhood (because husband say its their priceless jewels) All vacinated & heartwormed prevention.Theynever been caged & runs hapily around the garden.
