FEEDS THOUSANDS OF ANIMALS UPON HER DEATH

Deanna Chestnut had a dying wish to help the animals. She passed away in 2019 and, tragically, no one seems to have noticed. It doesn’t seem that there was a funeral. No obituary. No photo in the newspaper. No notice whatsoever. Only a single neighbor who seemed to know who she was. But that doesn’t mean Deanna’s life did not have a huge ripple effect…

Before she left this earth, Deanna set up a will and 20% of her retirement account was set aside for Harmony Fund to help feed the animals. And that open-heart and forethought have literally sustained us in our darkest hours.

Over the last three years, Harmony Fund has responded to more emergencies than we can count, many in which hundreds of animals at a time were completely without food. We exhausted every last dollar of our meager savings and our founder, Laura Simpson, was paying for food for the animals by using her own credit cards. We were in crisis stage. but Deanna came through for us. And though all of you are giving so generously and doing an amazing job helping, there is still a monthly deficit and we will use Deanna’s donation to fill the expected gap for a few months. She’ll touch the lives of animals in Venezuela, Romania, Zimbabwe, Bulgaria, the USA, Serbia, Cameroon and many more countries.

We are sorry that we could not meet you in this lifetime Deanna. We fear you were lonely here Deanna, and if only we had known, we would have made a phone call, sent a card and made sure you knew that you were special. You have left a legacy of love and hope for more souls than you could possibly have imagined. Your light has not gone dark, and will carry on giving food, shelter and protection-from cruelty to animals.
