Nutella was rushed to the vet a few werks ago when a routine morning check-up at tge sanctuary by volunteers showed her gums were pale. She was also not eating much. The vet at St Angels diagnosed her as being anemic with her red blood cell count dropping at 12%. This was because she had hookworms. She was also slightly jaundiced and her liver enzymes was slightly high. Nutella is better now and her red blood cells have increased to 37 %. Tge normal range is 44 % and she is reaching that.

She is eating now and no longer in drips. But her gums are still a little pale. Nutella was discharged from the vet and is back with the rest of the gang.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
