Karhus found a home where he truly belongs❣
Karhus isn’t your typical soi dog. How this lovable purebred Alaskan Malamute found his way to Thailand remains a mystery, but he was brought to the Soi Dog sanctuary in June 2016 by a tourist who found him chained up and abandoned in a shop driveway.
A gentle giant with gorgeous golden eyes and the fluffiest of coats, Karhus quickly won the hearts of staff, volunteers and our supporters around the world.
Local expat couple Heather and John welcomed him into their family here in Phuket. However, it quickly became clear to them that Karhus simply wasn’t built for the tropical Thai climate. Late last year, he flew to Alberta, Canada with them and now thrives in his new home and his true habitat!
“Karhus loves it here! We walked 10 Kilos around Banff in the new snow! Many people we meet on our walks tell me how beautiful he is.” – John.
