It's Your Handsome Boy, Nanoi. They Call Me Nanoi ..

It’s your handsome boy, Nanoi!

They call me Nanoi here at Soi Dog Foundation, but you can call me anything you fancy, from Nemo to Nimbus to Cat Stevens. I really don’t mind! After being nameless for the first year of my life and going to hell and back, I’m just grateful to be alive. https://links.soidog.org/adopt-rescuecat-Nanoi

I was a street cat who lived beside a local temple, and when Soi Dog’s animal rescue officers found me, my left front paw was knuckling under. I could hardly walk. X-rays at the shelter showed no fractures, but I was in terrible pain and refused to put any weight on my paw. I was also weak, malnourished and suffering from a nasty virus called feline panleukopenia, or parvo, which kills so many innocent kittens every day.

But I was one of the lucky ones and, after much treatment and rest, I came out of isolation strong and ready to face the world with gritty kitty exuberance. However, I still couldn’t use my leg, and the vets eventually made the difficult decision to amputate it.

Don’t feel sad though. I’ve been so much happier since the amputation and, despite everything, I choose to remain a joyful boy with a happy-go-lucky charm.

Amongst the usual cat repertoire of eating, staring into oblivion and chasing my own tail, I’m also famous for my balancing acts. I try out different spots and shelves in the cattery that no cats have chartered before. While I’m up there, I keep my eyes peeled for birdies that mock us from the treetops. They’re lucky I’m three legged and live in an enclosed area!

I also like to snooze (of course) and schmooze with anyone who says hello. I adore people and can’t wait to find someone who’ll take me out of the shelter and offer me a great life. A life in which I’ll never be alone, unwanted, hurt or scared again. https://links.soidog.org/adopt-rescuecat-Nanoi
