It is really heartbreaking and demoralising when rescued animals, especially puppies, do not make it. We are still coming to grasps with the death of two puppies that we admitted at St Angel’s Veterinary Hospital. The first death was one of the three remaining puppies infected with parvo whilst the second death was the black little puppy rescued from the monsoon drain. According to the vet in regards to the:
1) Puppy that died of parvo – “the pups may have encountered strong strain of parvovirus and the previous and this puppy died before the parvo supportive treatment take effect.”
2) The black puppy from the moonson drain: “The vet suspects septicemia. The pup’s white blood cells were 43000 on the day of admission (normal range is 16000). He was on drips, antibiotics and neuro medications but was very weak.”
REST IN PEACE PUPPIES
