Rescuing Work Is Not Just Picking Up And Putting T..
Tweet | ![]() |
Rescuing work is NOT just picking up and putting them anywhere, it requires a lot of time to rehabilitate, to treat, and to rehome (best case scenario: EACH animal requires quarantine 2 weeks + rehabilitation/introduction to existing pack 2 weeks + rehoming 6 months or longer); just ask any experienced rescuers, but the best moment is when you’re able to find your rescued animals a forever home.
From time to time we have dumping like these, without medical history, not sure where they come from, being left outside our gates overnight. Dumped animals consists of 35% of our population in the centre (20% are rescued, remaining 45% animals are surrendered voluntarily). Every dumping case will prolong the period we can bring in new animals. The worst part is that dumping introduces a lot uncertainties, eg: the puppy here was tested positive for parvo virus (read more here: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/health/parvo-in-dogs/).
