Three Remarkable Rescues From Nakhon Phanom Travel..

Three remarkable rescues from Nakhon Phanom traveled to Canada!

Honey, Tia (a.k.a. Mia), and Pola came from the government shelter in Nakhon Phanom, northeastern part of Thailand. They were living in horrible conditions, under sad circumstances. These three dogs were among many rescued and taken to Soi Dog’s shelter in Phuket. They received proper medical care, food and water, slept in spacious dog ‘runs’ and were provided with daily exercises and human socialisation. All three dogs were incredibly lucky to have been selected to travel to our partner rescue in Canada. Thanks to Furever Furbaby Rescue, Honey found her wonderful forever family and here’s what they had to say:

“A few months ago, well, November 10th to be exact, our family welcomed a new member. Her name is Honey. She’s a small black and tan terrier collie mix, but my God, she’s literally a mix of the smartest and sweetest dog in the world. The only way to describe her (other than beautiful) would be “painfully cute”. She is loved and cared for so much by my family and myself here in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. Honey is the sweetest girl. Such a perfect dog, and a great pal to have and care for.”

Tia went to our other partner rescue in Canada, Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation and she was adopted by her amazing foster family.

“I have been fostering on and off for over 20 years without failing fostering 101. That was until Tia came into our lives through @Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation. I tried hard not to fall madly in love with this feisty girl, she won. Tia has come leaps and bounds, accepting strangers and new dogs is an ongoing feat. Her trust in us to keep her from harm has helped her blossom into an amazing pup! From car rides (her favorite) to fishing (her NEW favorite) to playing with her big brother Xerox, she has captured our souls. She has many nicknames, some of which are Tia-bat, Rat-bat (she loves cheese), teetles, T, Tia Marie, TT, Princess T and Fruit Bat.”

Lastly, Pola was chosen to travel to Canada by our partner rescue, Etobicoke Humane Society in Toronto and she was adopted shortly thereafter. We received a lovely update from her adopter:

“She’s come such a long way and her personality is definitely making the isolation easier. My girlfriend has a whippet and since we’ve been living together, the dogs went from tolerating each other to essentially best friends now. She plays with him quite a bit and even cuddles up next to him. From being stand offish to now a loving and playful dog is incredible to see.”

Soi Dog has partner rescues in Canada (and the USA) who have helped many street dogs from Thailand find their #furrytailending with loving families. There’s more than one way to adopt a soi dog, so get in touch with one of our partner rescues today. For more information, email partnerrescue@soidog.org
