8000 Dogs And Cats Neutered And Vaccinated In May...

Last month, Soi Dog teams in Phuket, Bangkok area, and Nakhon Si Thammarat managed to neuter and vaccinate over 8000 dogs and cats bringing the total number of animals neutered since 2003, to 432,826.

Whilst restrictions placed due to COVID-19 has deterred us from carrying out our Catch I Neuter I Vaccinate I Return (CNVR) programme in most public places, the mobile teams did not take a break. Instead, they made the best of the situation and focused on the feral dogs that normally live in jungles and remote areas.

Our Bangkok team, for instance, pictured here were hard at work marching through abandoned construction sites, cutting their way through thick vegetation and wading through swamps to get to these dogs.

In Phuket since we began our operations in 2003, the number of stray dogs was reduced by 90% and we hope to see similar results in areas such as Bangkok and the metropolitan area which has an estimated free-roaming dog population of over 600,000. However, with an estimated total population of 10 million stray dogs in Thailand, this is only just the beginning.

To stop the pain and misery we see on a daily basis, CNVR is the proven most effective and humane solution to the overpopulation crisis of free-roaming dogs and cats.

And, with your continuing support, we will be able to improve their welfare and prevent thousands of others being born into a life of suffering and short-lived miserable lives.

We can’t thank you enough for your support in making the spay and neuter programme such a success.🙏
