Na Tong's Furrytailending!

If there was ever a dog who deserved to find their forever home, it was Na Tong. He arrived at the Soi Dog shelter when he was a little over a year old, abandoned by his previous owner. Time went by, year after year, as Na Tong waited for his luck to change. Finally, after nine years and nine months, sweet Na Tong found his perfect match, and he left the shelter in March on one of the last flights before lockdown, bound for the UK. We recently received an incredibly sweet update from his adopter.

“Na Tong arrived in his forever home and he’s settling in brilliantly. It’s been great fun getting to know him and he makes me smile every day with his excitement starting with his morning walk, going for walks are his absolute favourite thing. He also loves snoozing on the sofa, preferably having his ears and belly rubbed at the same time and he’ll do anything for a piece of chicken! He has daily mad moments and steals things and runs away with them, including his dog beds which he loves ripping to shreds (he’s gone through 2 so far).

I was first introduced to Na Tong when I contacted Soi Dog Foundation and asked them to suggest a dog that might be a good fit. As soon as I heard that Na Tong had been in the shelter for [almost] 10 years that was enough for me, I would have adopted him without seeing him but as soon as I saw the pictures and videos it was love at first sight, his cheeky personality is a bonus.

He’s a wonderful dog and even though he always looked so happy at Soi Dog, it makes me sad that he’d been there for so long. He really is a beautiful boy and gets a lot of compliments when we are out on our daily walks. He has brought me a lot of happiness during this corona lockdown and I really can’t imagine life without him. It’s my mission now to make these years his happiest and healthiest yet and make every day count. As soon as the lockdown is over we have people to see and places to go and they will definitely involve his other favourite activity, water!

Thank you all at Soi for your hard work, dedication and pulling all the stops out to get this amazing dog over to the UK before the lockdown. It has made everything even more magical and we will both be forever grateful.”
