Maethong A.k.a. Sweetie Pie

Hello there! My name’s Maethong which is Thai for ‘golden mother.’ While I’m not a mother, I am definitely the golden child of the ‘Mae’ family.

I am the last to be featured as part of Soi Dog’s #nopawsleftbehind month. My mama, Maepetch, and sisters, Maeploy and Maengern, already had their debut this past week. Before Soi Dog’s animal rescue officers found us, we were all struggling to survive on the streets of Phuket. Despite suffering from varying degrees of blindness, we were so lucky to have each other during those hard times.

Unfortunately, it was too late to save my eyes, and the vets removed them to relieve my suffering. I am just happy to be alive and looking forward to finding my forever home. If my ‘Big Sis’, who is also in this video with me, can join then that would be great. But if not, I think I am strong enough to pave my own path in life.

Everyone thinks I am such a sweet girl. That is why I am also known as ‘Sweetie Pie.’ My lack of sight has not slowed me down. I can navigate my way with ease so long as you are there by my side to help guide me. Once I am comfortable around you or another dog, I can mold perfectly into your family, just like I do with my birth family.
