“Pat Smith, a 70-year-old grandmother from the UK, saw a documentary about plastic pollution and got really bothered about the problem. She couldn’t sleep that night and when she woke up next morning, she decided to do something about it. So she set a challenge for herself for the upcoming year in 2018 – she wanted to clean up one beach per week.”
