Let’s continue from previous #TaxaTuesday, Genus Heosemys (Asian Pond Turtles), with H. grandis (Giant Asian Pond Turtle).
This species is under “Vulnerable” status under the IUCN Red List. It is one of the largest hard-shell semi-aquatic turtle in Asian. Its head is mottled with numerous yellow, orange, or pink spots, which will fade as ages. The broad head is greyish-green to brown and mottled with numerous, which disappear with age. The posterior margin of the carapace is serrated in the same manner as the Spiny Turtle.
