For those of you who are not very familiar with TCS and our terrapin conservation efforts, let us introduce ourselves a little:

Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia (TCS) is a non-governmental and not-for-profit Society that focuses on the research and conservation of turtles, particularly freshwater turtles in Malaysia

We currently lead a community-based river terrapin research and conservation project in the Kemaman River in Terengganu, Malaysia, with the cooperation and support from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN), local communities and various corporate companies.

We also carry out educational programmes for school students, especially in rural schools along the major rivers in Terengganu. Additionally, we conduct outreach programmes (e.g. talks, guided tours, etc.) to cultivate concern for wildlife among the public. You can read more about our work in

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
