On The 3rd 4th Of August, We Had Conducted A Trip ..

On the 3rd & 4th of August, we had conducted a trip of 2D1N Nature Excursion and Beach Clean Up with SMK Kuala Lanar and SMK Setia Wangsa. 49 students participated, escorted by 2 ETAs and 8 local teachers.

At Turtle Sanctuary, Cherating, we introduced the students and teachers the 4 turtle species in Malaysia, the threats they face, their life cycle and nesting process. Afterwards, we went to Kg. Pasir Gajah to introduce them our critically endangered river terrapins and conservation project we have carried out in the community level. Later on, we departed to Rimbun Dahan Turtle Hatchery to release sea turtle hatchlings.

The next day, we went again to Rimbun Dahan, where we split the students into smaller groups to do various educational and environmental activities which include beach clean-up, trash analysis, mangrove planting, making Ecobricks and nest excavation. The students and teachers definitely had learnt and experienced a lot of new things!😄

Thank you SMK Kuala Lanar and SMK Setia Wangsa for being cooperative within these two days. We hope you can spread the awareness about turtles and the knowledge you have learnt with us towards your friends and family. Also, a special thanks to the team from Rimbun Dahan Turtle Hatchery for giving a big help during our trip there.

Till we meet again😊 Adios👋🏻
