This Morning We Had A Big Surprise Waiting For Us ..

This morning we had a BIG surprise waiting for us in the form of a SMALL package! Someone had left a tiny kitten outside the shelter covered in silver metal paint!! 😢😢😢 There was a note informing us that the kitten had fallen into a container of paint whilst a contractor was painting at a hotel on the island.

It has taken us over 3 hours already to get him cleaned up and he’s still not 100% paint free. We have more volunteers working on it this afternoon and we’re obviously keeping a very close eye for signs of poisoning etc. Since he’s also not eating or drinking we are having to give him food and water via a plastic syringe.

The Langkawi Animal Shelter and Sanctuary Foundation is set-up to receive, rehabilitate and care for neglected, abused and needy animals. The organization also runs the Langkawi Island Animal Clinic - a charity project aimed at the sterilization of the stray cat & dog population. Both are non profit ventures, staffed partly by volunteers and aimed at improving the lives of unwanted animals.
