Muang Ake is a typical town to the West of Bangkok badly flooded and now being cleared up. Around 150 dogs survived (approximately same number died). Concerned locals contacted Soi Dog and we are supplying food and financing treatment via TREAT Bangkok one of our partner orgainizations.
Khun Ot of TREAT picked up 19 dogs today from Muang Ake -- one with a huge tumor -- in preparation for Swiss vet Daniele's arrival on Tuesday. We were able to use SCAD Foundation's large truck which allowed us to get that many with help of local people there -- it's a huge and time-consuming project though...
It was difficult to photograph the horrible scene of what the floods left for the people and of course the animals to deal with -- it's horrible -- water level was from 1 to 3 meters -- you can see the markings on the walls here and there. Despite the flooding receiving less coverage in the media the resuce work continues and your support is needed to help the animals.
