General Cat Food Recipe
3 antibiotic residual free chicken (whole with bones, organs, skin), 6-8 cloves of fresh garlic;
Bring chicken in water to a boil and simmer on low flame for 30 min. Add the hardest veggies first (e.g. carrots, potatoes). Use enough filtered/bottled water to cover chicken and veggies in pot. Add in soft vegetables (e.g. zucchini) at last.
Mix different “above ground growing” veggies with “below ground growing” veggies for a healthy variety – (e.g. 1 cup of chopped carrots with ½ cup chopped potatoes, and ½ cup chopped squash or pumpkin or ½ cup chopped green beans and ½ cup chopped zucchini with ½ cup chopped celery and ½ chopped sweet potatoes.
Debone chicken and mix skin, muscle meat, organs and veggies (60 – 80% meat & organs; 10 – 20% veggies). Put everything in blender.
Remember that carbohydrates add calories and can slow down metabolism. If your pet is overweight don’t add any!
Use chicken broth from pot with meat-veggie mix. Add 1 tablespoon Kelp powder, 1 tablespoon of Calcium powder (“Bone Meal” or crushed egg shells) and 1 tablespoon of pulverized vitamin tablets.
Store portioned in freezer and/fridge (max 2 days).
