Two days ago, a lady (who only speaks Chinese) called me asking for help. Apparently, her friend wants to “throw” her Siberian Husky out on the streets. This lady asked if I could take the dog in.
Gosh, I don’t run a shelter, I said. I cannot take any dog in. Why don’t you advise your friend to put the dog up for adoption at PetFinder.my (this lady is IT-illiterate so that’s useless) or send me a photo with the owner’s contact details and I’ll put it up?
But she said the owner just had to get rid of the poor dog immediately and was going to throw the dog out on the street the next day.
I said if she wanted to get rid of the dog so urgently, why not surrender the dog to PAWS and ask if they are willing to accept it. As far as I know, purebreds get adopted quite easily from PAWS.
But would she have to pay, she asked. Of course she’ll have to. From the sounds of it, she wasn’t willing to pay.
I asked how old the dog is, and apparently, it’s only 2 years old and comes with a birth certificate.
Why does she want to throw the dog out, I asked.
Oh, because she has no time to take care of it anymore.
So, she is going to throw the dog out on the streets?
Apparently so.
I shudder to think what kind of person this owner must be.
The phonecalls went ding-dong three times, and finally this lady said she would ask the owner to liaise directly with me.
All I asked is the owner’s contact details and a photograph of the dog.
I’ve been waiting for the owner to call, but it’s been two days now and there has been no calls.
I also did not blog about it because I have absolutely no details, no contact number, no photograph, etc.
If you happen to see a Siberian Husky out on the streets, it may be this one. Poor fella. Please do the needful for it.
