Guinness, are you still afraid of something? Why are you still sitting idly on the floor although you are nearly recovered? Is it because you enjoy the life of being loved and pampered that you refused to stand up? Or are you just afraid you will encounter any mishaps if you stand up?

Guinness is getting better but we do not see her attempting to stand up at all, she seems to be stuck at this stage of her recovery. We brought her to a few vets, they were all puzzled and commented “How strange, she should be able to stand up by now.”

Perhaps, Guinness has yet to overcome her psychological barriers because the recovery progress was too fast for her to adapt to it. We have no way of knowing but we really hope that she will bravely stand up one day. Meanwhile, the foster family can only continue to take care of Guinness with love.

Guinness is very friendly and adorable. Her good personality traits have also been passed on to her babies, and two of her puppies were adopted successfully while the remaining two cute puppies are still looking for their forever home.

Homeless & Orphan Pets Exist (H.O.P.E.) is a non-profit organization and no-kill shelter that aims to improve welfare of strays and abandoned pets around Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Our four core missions are rescuing, re-homing, sterilization and increasing public awareness of pet ownership and responsibilities. Currently, we are caring for approximately 700 abandoned animals in our shelter located at Lima Kedai.
