上周园区迎来了年纪最小的义工团! 😍🐶🐱

The youngest volunteer group came to HOPE (eng version below)

15位来自新加玻9-11岁的孩子们来做小小义工，看到猫咪狗狗大家开心的不得了 ❤

他们是参加了新加坡诚兴旅游举办的假期学习营，热心的负责人把 【来园区做动物义工】 加进了学习行程里，而据说很多小朋友会报名，都是因为可以来帮猫狗们，好棒! 👏👏

小朋友们下午都会进来园区几个小时，他们可以选择”认养”一只猫或狗，并要学习照顾它们，晚上回到民宿还要写观察日记

小朋友让我们刮目相看，他们都非常聪明，虽然未必能100%吸收太深奥的动保知识，但从小有接触猫狗的经验，让孩子往后看到浪浪，会理解它们没有家、正遭受着饥饿生病的痛苦，而选择帮助，不是驱赶或虐待，非常有意义！

感激小朋友们最后还向父母筹得了一笔款项捐给园区毛毛，感激带团负责人铭芯和朋友们也把学习营的团费爱心捐出，非常感恩 🙏

希望往后有更多孩子能有这样的学习经验

Last week, our shelter welcomed the youngest ever volunteer group! 😍🐶🐱

15 children from Singapore between 9-11 years old, came volunteering and everyone was so excited to visit the furkids ❤

They’ve participated in the holiday learning camp of Zenxin Travel Pte Ltd.

The enthusiastic person in charge added our shelter’s volunteering work to the learning itinerary, and we heard that many children chose to join in this camp because they wanted to come and help the homeless animals. Kudos to the kids! 👏👏

The little volunteers group came to our shelter for a few hours in the afternoon. They can choose to “adopt” a cat or dog and learn to take care of them. When they returned to the homestay, they even needed to write an observation diary.

The kids suprised us a lot as they are very smart. Although they may not be able to absorb 100% of the animal welfare knowledge we taught, but they had the precious experience in learning to get along with cats and dogs since young.

When they see the homeless pets in the future, they will understand that the animals have no home and are suffering from hunger or sick, they will then choose to help, but not bully or abuse them, it is very meaningful!

We are also grateful to the kids as they have raised a sum of money from their parents to donate to the shelter furries. Thank you to MingXin & friends, who is in charge of the learning camp, donated the camp fees for the furkids too.

We hope that in the future, more children will have the opportunity to learn to make contact with cats and dogs from an early age.

Homeless & Orphan Pets Exist (H.O.P.E.) is a non-profit organization and no-kill shelter that aims to improve welfare of strays and abandoned pets around Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Our four core missions are rescuing, re-homing, sterilization and increasing public awareness of pet ownership and responsibilities. Currently, we are caring for approximately 700 abandoned animals in our shelter located at Lima Kedai.
