This Is The Story Of How Two Soi Dogs Fate Intertw..

This is the story of how two soi dogs’ fate intertwined and became one happily ever after #furrytailending. Shadow and Frida (formerly known as Jade) were both rescues from Soi Dog Foundation. Shadow came from the local government pound with little to no history. He was fearful of people which made us believe he may have suffered from some form of abuse during his time on the streets. Frida was one of the thousands of dogs who were rounded up in northeastern Thailand as a reactive response to an exaggerated rabies scare. Shadow was privately adopted and Frida went to our partner rescue in Canada.

“Last year I decided to adopt Shadow, a very shy black dog from Soi Dog’s Shelter. Best decision in my life. He is my prince. He has his fears and has hard time passing garbage bins due to his unknown history. He has so much love to give every day. He loves to be in my lap and get cuddled, he has his small rituals and places he goes to or never goes to. He is funny, he never barks, only in his dreams and it’s the cutest little bark ever. He loves dog park and big furry dogs – they are his favorite. In the beginning, he didn’t even know how to play or interact with other dogs, but after some time, he’s gained a great deal of confidence.

Then around Christmas, I got an email from Soi Dog’s staff saying they were in need of emergency foster for Jade (now Frida). As you can tell, what was 10-days emergency foster turned into a forever home for Frida. At the beginning Shadow and Frida didn’t quite get along. But with love and patience, they eventually accepted the situation. Frida is super courageous and interested in everything. She got smudged in one my aunt’s fresh paintings, after that we named her Frida. She still has some behaviour issues, especially when passing other dogs and people during our walks, but she’s getting better.

Frida showed Shadow that he doesn’t need to be scared of everything and she always protects him. They were meant to end up together here with me in Toronto. Our family is now complete.”
