HAPPY TALES: RUFUS, ADOPTED BY GRACE
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the first photos we saw on SPCA’s website was of Rufus. Coincidentally, we saw Rufus at SPCA and immediately fell in love with him, only to realise he was the same dog on the website! We knew we had to bring him home. We did a lot of research on crate training and were so worried about making his homecoming comfortable. When we got home, he walked into the house and directly into his play crate to pick a toy on his own!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There’s a photo attached where he is sleeping on me. That’s on day 1 when we brought him home, and I laid on the floor next to his crate to watch him sleep. He woke up, crawled up on my chest and took a nap. It’s the most precious thing in the world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rufus brought our families closer, teaching us to prioritise family over work, and he has been so unconditional with his love. Although he has a deep hatred for anything on wheels, and also detests paper bags/boxes, he loves his fruits and veggies, and is a big fan of napping on laps. While he hates leaving the house to go for daily walks, he loves running free on the beach and will always come back when called. He’s a dream. We’re lucky enough to have several family members home at any given time, but it was initially difficult leaving him alone when we went out for family dinners because we could hear him whining from the lobby. He is now very independent, but still greets us with the same excitement.

Thanks guys for watching over all these pups for us in Singapore, ❤️.
