We will soon be re-opening for adoptions and visits:

As of Monday May 18th, people may visit the shelter under these conditions:

- must call first 04 2816559 to make an appointment

- must wear a mask

- no groups of more than 4

- must register on arrival with name, phone, ic/passport

- must agree to staff taking their temperature on arrival and not enter the shelter if it is above normal

- must maintain social distancing with staff and anyone else in the shelter

- must accept they may have to wait outside the gate if there are too many people inside (at staff’s discretion) .

Opening hours:

Monday – Friday : 10am – 12.30pm and 2pm – 4.30pm

Saturday : 10am – 12.30pm

Sunday : Closed

Strictly no group visits at the moment, hopefully we can restart the new volunteer briefings in June – we will announce later.

SPCA Penang's main objectives are to prevent the unnecessary suffering of animals and to ensure responsible pet ownership. Hence the Society acts to prevent cruelty to animals and promotes kindness towards them by fostering an intelligent public interest regarding Man's duty animals.

Though the Society is sometimes compelled to put down an animal, our work covers a much more wider scope of rescuing, rehabilitating, healing and re-homing the animals.
