Learn About Soi Dog's Fight Against The Dog Meat Trade!

Miracles do happen! An incredible journey for a dog meat trade survivor from Thailand.

We are so proud of former #soidogrescue and #dogmeattradesurvivor Miracle who recently auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent.

Rescued from the dog meat trade in a Soi Dog-led operation in 2013, dogs like this special boy are a constant source of inspiration and motivation.

Accompanied by his adopter Amanda Leask, Miracle stole the show on Saturday night’s airing of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV in the UK, and left the judges in tears at hearing his backstory and the horrors of the dog meat trade in Asia.

Around 1,000 dogs, including Miracle, were intercepted by Soi Dog agents close to the Mekong River on the night of May 5th, 2013 in Nong Yat, Nakhon Phanom province. Over the course of four years, thousands more were spared the horrific ordeal of being crammed into cages and transported for days across countries only to be tortured before their slaughter.

Thankfully, the dog meat trade is now non-existent in Thailand, and the outlawing of the consumption of dog and cat meat is included in the Cruelty Prevention and Welfare of Animal Act, 2014, a bill on which Soi Dog worked with the Thai government to draft.

However, this barbaric practice continues in countries like Vietnam, and we hope you’ll join us to help put an end to it once and for all.

We can’t wait to see Amanda and Miracle move forward in the show, and we hope that Miracle will be a great source of inspiration in the fight against this cruel trade which is still rampant in countries like Vietnam and China.
