Timothy, an 11 year old student from ACS ( International) was the star at our rabbit care workshop that we held today for our youth supporters. He shared his wonderful experience of taking care of Baxter, a local rabbit that he and his family adopted from the SPCA. One week after adopting Baxter, Timothy found that there was something not quite right about Baxter’s eye-sight. So we told him to bring Baxter back for the vet to have a look. It was then confirmed that Baxter was partially blind, probably from birth. Timothy’s heart went out to Baxter. Without hesitation, he quickly picked up Baxter and put him back into the carrier and took him home. His thinking was, “If Baxter is blind, no one else will adopt him, I must look after him.” We were so touched by this little young man’s compassion and we are so honoured to have him grace this session and hope more young people can learn from him and his amazing love for animals.
