Five weeks old, blind and alone – poor Hanko was in dire need of help.
For kittens like Hanko born on the streets of Thailand, life is a cruel obstacle course full of danger and uncertainty. Defenceless youngsters like him have to avoid packs of dogs, cross busy roads and somehow find food, clean water and shelter every day.
But little Hanko had even more to contend with. Not only was he navigating all of this alone, he was also doing it totally blind. We can only imagine how terrified he must have been.
In a stroke of luck, Hanko was spotted by Soi Dog staff member after he darted out of the grounds of her local temple. It was only when she managed to catch him that she saw just how much he was suffering.
No kitten should have to live alone, hungry and in fear. Please, join our Care for Cats Club today to help save homeless animals like Hanko: https://links.soidog.org/help-homeless-kittens-like-Hanko
This poor boy’s left eye was incredibly damaged and shrunken, while his right was bulging out of its socket. With no signs of traumatic injury, our vets suspect his blindness was caused by a viral infection; likely a severe case of cat flu.
Thanks to the kindness of cat lovers like you, Hanko is now safe and resting up in our cat hospital. To relieve his discomfort, both of his eyes will be removed once he’s strong enough for the procedure. At last recording, this brave boy weighed less than a kilogram, so it could be a while yet. But we will be there every step of the way, and we’ll be sure to update you on his progress.
With no government funding, you are the only hope for kittens like Hanko. Please pledge a monthly or one-off gift today that will be put to use rescuing and caring for suffering, homeless cats like Hanko: https://links.soidog.org/help-homeless-kittens-like-Hanko
