Warning Graphic Images. Lakotas Story Isnt One For..

**WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES

Lakota’s story isn’t one for the squeamish. This blue-eyed beauty arrived with a truly horrific, infected wound on his side that made even our most hardened vets flinch.

If we had been alerted to Lakota’s condition any later, it’s likely that he would have gone into septic shock. He is only a year old, and his small body was struggling to fight the infection.

Thankfully, a kind lady found him in her housing estate just in time and rushed him to a local clinic. When she discovered that he needed treatment she couldn’t afford, she brought him to Soi Dog. Please join our Care for Cats Club today to be a lifeline for homeless cats like Lakota. They have no one else but you: https://links.soidog.org/Care-for-cats-like-Lakota-today

Lakota’s body had been working overtime to protect the wound, but Thailand’s hot and humid climate had dramatically slowed the healing process down. As a result, layer upon layer of dead tissue had built up on top of the wound. This poor little boy desperately needed medical care. With Lakota under pain relief, our vets carefully cut away at the tissue, treated the wound underneath with a topical antibiotic and bandaged his delicate frame.

At any given time, we have 1,100 animals in our hospital and shelter. But the knock-on effects of the Covid-19 pandemic mean this number is rising every day. Please, donate today so we can provide life-saving care to helpless cats like Lakota when they are sick, injured and suffering: https://links.soidog.org/Care-for-cats-like-Lakota-today
