April 25th marks World Veterinary Day, a global opportunity to celebrate the contributions of veterinarians to the health of animals and society.
Here at the Soi Dog Foundation sanctuary in Phuket, we are lucky enough to have a dedicated team of 23 vets, together with our veterinary technologists and veterinary nurses who provide exceptional medical care to our 1,100+ resident animals.
And at our clinic in Bangkok, a further 15 along with the assistance of veterinary nurses are on the front line working to neuter and vaccinate the huge stray population there and treat those most in need.
We also welcome veterinary volunteers from around the world who offer up their time and their love to the animals in our care.
Those who feel the benefit of our vets’ work the most – the dogs and cats – might not be able to vocalise their gratitude (they use licks, nuzzles and wagging tails instead), so we’ll do it in their place: thank you for everything you do.
