It Can Be A Long And Winding Road To Recovery For ..

It can be a long and winding road to recovery for some desperate animals that come through our shelter doors.

Brave Khaojam who arrived at Soi Dog back in August 2019 had clearly endured great pain and cruelty. He had a badly swollen front leg that needed urgent medical attention. The skin was red raw from his elbow all the way down to his paw, and putting any weight on it caused him immense agony. From the deep wound on his elbow, our vets concluded that someone exceptionally unkind had tied something around his leg, like rope or a rubber band.

We never want to turn away an animal in need. But the current pandemic has left our shelter operating over capacity due to more animals coming in than being able to leave. Please, donate today so we can ensure there’s a place for helpless dogs like Khaojam who have nowhere else to go when they are sick, injured and suffering. All donations made today will be doubled: https://links.soidog.org/Help-more-dogs-like-Khaojam

The months that followed were touch and go for Khaojam. Our vets weren’t sure if they could save is leg. But thanks to support from people like you, they were able to explore other options, including surgery on his elbow, physiotherapy to repair the muscle damage to his leg and Manuka honey treatment to heal his skin.

And just look at him now. Khaojam not only came out of his ordeal with all four paws but also with a smile that stretches from one velvet ear to the other, and with a certain glint in his beautiful brown eyes that tells us we have a cheeky boy on our hands!

His spotted fur hasn’t quite regrown where the surgical incisions were made or where the worst of his injuries were, but our vets are keeping a close eye on this. He is otherwise fit and healthy and doesn’t require any medication at all.

To keep rescuing, rehabilitating and finding homes for dogs like Khaojam, we need your help. Please considering donating today, for their sakes: https://links.soidog.org/Help-more-dogs-like-Khaojam Thank you for believing that homeless animals deserve a chance at health and happiness.
